Pretty Cheat Sheet

My little one (formerly my littlest one) has been having a hard time with her parts of speech. For whatever reason, she just can't keep her nouns and verbs straight. So, in keeping with my own motto of "I will use it more if it's pretty" (also, see sidebar), I made her a little pocket sized cheat sheet out of ... you guessed it, those same file folders.  I just cut the folder in half lengthwise and folded each side into the middle:

Worth every minute!

Little did I know that homeschoolers have been doing this for years.  Apparently "lapbooks" are as old as the hills.  There are tons of great websites devoted to them.  My little puppy doesn't quite qualify because it's actually half the size of a real lapbook.
Anyhow, little one is giddy with it.  Her brother delivered it to her like it was a royal summons (he has a flare for the dramatic), and once she saw the gaudy gem on the outside, she was ready to diagram some sentences!
