Flowers for Fall Day Three: Roses are Red ... or whatever color you choose

These flowers you must try today.  All of you have the material to make them, probably within arm's reach:
You will need:
Small Scrap of Paper
Scissors
and... that's it:
Start with a small square, between 4 to 5 inches.  Round the edges and cut a spiral shape leaving a small circle in the middle

Starting with the outside edge. start curling the spiral in on itself tightly.  Try to keep the bottom of the roll securely against your middle finger while using the thumbof the other hand to keep things tight (and ignore the need for a manicure)

Keep going until you get to the end.  Allow the rose to naturally "sit" on the circle base you've left in the center.  Just trust me, it will

Then release your little rose, just let her go, she'll be fine.   Don't be scared when it starts to uncurl a little, it is supposed to

And now you can make a beautiful little bouquet in a few more minutes

Make your little girl's mirror the fairest of them all, make a plain gift box anything but plain, use on greeting cards, I've even seen others glue them on branches for a table centerpiece

  1. I love wrapping gifts in newspaper (yes, newspaper!) and then embellishing the package with these - black and white and red, can you beat that :)?
    Thanks for sharing!
P.S. A little ModPodge on them is fantastic!
