Materials:
Freezer Paper
X-acto Knife
Fabric Glue ,Paint Sponge, and Glitter (for glitter shirts)
OR Fabric Paint (non-puffy works best)
Cotton T-Shirt
Iron
Cut your design out of the freezer paper with the shiny side down
Lay it on your fabric and iron it on the cotton setting (no steam) gently so as not to stretch or fold the design. More pressing than ironing - for about 30 seconds. You should have a nice tight seal, especially where there is a lot of detail
(If painting, go ahead and dab the paint on at this point, let dry slightly and peel away the stencil. Then let dry completely. Heat set before washing, see below)
Using fabric glue (I used Simply Screen Glitter and Foil Adhesive, but any Fabric Glue will do) dab inside the stencil. I squirted the glue in place and let the kids do the dabbing. I did the necessary re-dabbing
Sprinkle generously with glitter and let dry for a couple of hours
I forgot to take a picture of this, but at this point you shake out the excess glitter. Peel back the stencil. I suggest having scissors on hand to snip the pieces you've cut. Otherwise, it can get unwieldly
With a dry iron on cotton setting and using parchment paper as a pressing "cloth", heat set your design the same way you set the stencil
And the great reveal: three custom made Eid shirts! I'm happy already. :)
