Bloomers in Place

One of the nicest things about having a baby girl is little girl dresses.  By age seven, stores seem to think girls morph into Gothic band groupies... but I digress. For a few years anyway, the choice of puffy sleeves and flowery skirts is giddying.  The problem with having so many cute dresses with their adorable matching bloomers is how to store the bloomers so you can find them when you need them (instead of after the event by two days).  After a number of different attempts, I finally found something that works and works really well.
I happened to have some drapery clips lying around from a past window covering situation that didn't go as planned:

So instead of throwing them out, I saved them knowing they'd come in handy for something.  Now, they serve as solutions for a previously annoying problem:

Oh my!  Excuse the indecent exposure!
This could work for matching hats, headbands, or other accessories as well.  I wouldn't try it with adult clothes where you would notice the marks the clips might leave.
You're welcome :).

  1. great idea! i've tried all different solutions to keep the diaper covers with the dresses...may have to give this one a whirl!
and what you said about how starting at age 7 apparenly we're supposed to dress our girls like mini-madonnas? ARRRGGHH!!! i completely agree! it drives me NUTS that shopping for my 10 year old is so hard! NO, i DON'T want her to look like hannah montana or selena gomez or WHOEVER. i want her to look TEN! i can see that i'm going to be making A LOT more of her clothing in the next few years! :o)

HA! Amen to that! That is one of the reasons I decided to brush up on my sewing skills. So far, my six year old is still willing (and proud) to wear what Mama made for her ... just hope it lasts.
Thanks for stopping by ... I love your blog!
