Gobbi Mobile attempt

So after mentioning to a dear friend that I didn't quite know what to do with Baby Selma at this age, she breathlessly described a Gobbi Mobile.  I checked it out on Etsy and saw that it fit my baby-things criteria: namely, something that I would enjoy looking at for a long time.  Mine didn't turn out as pretty as the original, but it'll do and so far she seems to really like it.
The snippet of the poster above is an Arabic alphabet print from Etsy by a very sweet sister: http://www.etsy.com/shop/Waafia
My assistant (notice the Magnolia cupcakes t-shirt in the background!)
Materials:
Four styrofoam balls
20 skeins of embroidery floss (each ball uses five of the same color)
Dowel
White Ribbon
As for the instructions, I think my friend said I was supposed to go through the middle of the ball but that would have taken me until Selma graduated from Harvard, so I just dabbed a bit of glue and wrapped, and wrapped, and wrapped...
