I'm going to be making a few fabric-based crafts over the next little while, so I wanted to share the following:
I finally found a way to keep and see my growing stash of fabric without having to rummage through a big bin (old way). Taking inspiration from fabric stores, I wrapped each bolt around foam board. It took less than an hour, and cost less than $10. Here's how it turned out:
All it is is foam board bought from the dollar store cut into thirds. After folding the fabric so that it fits,
I wrapped it up and then secured it with a pin. The foam is thick enough to hold the pin in place without it going through to the other side.
And voila, now I can pull out one bolt at a time without upsetting the whole stash. If I buy coordinating fabric to use on the same project, it can all go on the same bolt.
How do you all store your fabrics?
Great idea! I may have to borrow this concept for my own growing stash!!!
